What is Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)?

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is widely accepted to be a major contributor to global climate change. Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) refers to the process of capturing CO2, transporting it to a storage site where it is captured to ensure it will not enter the atmosphere.

The Paris Agreement on climate change, signed in 2015, committed members of the UN to reduce their carbon output “as soon as possible” and to do their best to keep global warming “to well below 2°C” above pre-industrial levels.
